EMSA Referee Courses Information

To be involved as a referee in the 2022/2023 Indoor program you must currently be registered with Alberta Soccer (ASA) as a Youth/District/Regional/National Referee or MINI REFEREE.

 2022/2023 Indoor Season

EMSA will host the following Referees Courses for the 2022/2023 Indoor Season

ASA CONVERSION COURSE (dates and details below)

For existing Youth/District/Regional/National District Referees who have not completed an Indoor Conversion Course within the last 2 years. This course is for Arena (boarded) Indoor Soccer. The course is a 6-hour course, that includes some practical on-field training.

These courses are offered through refcentre and will be available for registration shortly. Your ASA fees must be up to date to be able to participate.

To sign up for a Conversion Course, log in to your Refcentre account at www.refcentre.com – and use the ‘Registration’ menu and look for Conversion Courses with EMSA as the host.

  • SATURDAY 24 SEPTEMBER 2022 from 10:00am to 4:00pm (classroom time: lounge upstairs) plus from 4:00pm to 5:00pm (filed time) at Edmonton SOUTH Soccer Facility 6520 Roper Road T6B 3K8
  • SUNDAY 25 SEPTEMBER 2022 from 9:00am to 3:00pm (classroom time: meeting room upstairs) plus from 3:00pm to 4:00pm (field time) at Edmonton EAST Soccer Facility 12720 Victoria Trail NW, Edmonton, AB T5A 5G4

ASA REFRESHER COURSE (dates and details below)

For existing Youth/District/Regional/National District Referees who have completed an Indoor Conversion Course within the last 2 years.

Your ASA fees must also be up to date. This course has two parts.

  • An online questionnaire which is currently available on refcentre. Log into your refcentre account and under the Registration Menu look for Indoor Questionnaire.
  • Attend a Refresher Course Classroom session. This will be approximately 3 hours:

– TUESDAY 27 September 2022 from 6:00pm to 9:00pm (meeting room upstairs)  at Edmonton EAST Soccer Facility  12720 Victoria Trail NW, Edmonton, AB T5A 5G4

– THURSDAY 29 September 2022 from 6:00pm to 9:00pm (lounge room upstairs) at Edmonton SOUTH Soccer Facility 6520 Roper Rd T6B 3K8

  • To sign up for a Refresher Course, log in to your Refcentre account at www.refcentre.com – and use the ‘Registration’ menu and look for Refresher  Courses with EMSA as the host. These will be available shortly for registration.

 

EMSA MINI CONVERSION COURSE (details and dates below)

The EMSA Indoor Mini Referee Conversion Course is for existing ASA Registered Mini Referees that have not previously been involved in the EMSA Indoor program. The course is so that one can referee U9 boarded games in the EMSA Indoor Program.
In order to participate in this course one must fulfil the following criteria –

    • be currently registered with ASA as a Mini Referee (not Youth or District)
    • be able to officiate on Saturdays
    • be able to officiate at any of the indoor boarded centres in Edmonton

CLASS SESSION :Sept 17, 2022 from 10:00am to 1:00pm at ESAF FACILITY SOUTH- Lounge room upstairs (6520 Roper Road T6B 3K8) .

FIELD SESSION: Sept 17, 2022 from 1:15pm to 2:15pm at ESAF FACILITY SOUTH (6520 Roper Road T6B 3K8) FIELD # 12

EMSA AR (Assistant Referees) Courses

 2021/2022 Indoor Season

– ASA REFEREE COURSES  *Conversion*

This course is for existing 11v11 referees (not mini referees) and it is required to all referees that have not previously done an ASA Conversion Course.

For this 2021/2022 Indoor Season, this course will be:

    • online pre-course modules: you will get an email with a link once you register for this course
    • 2.5 hour online webinar: OCTOBER 14, 2021 from 7:00pm to 9:30 pm
    • 1 hour field session (indoor boarded field): OCTOBER 14, 2021 from 1:00PM to 2:00pm @ Edmonton Soccer Facility SOUTH (FIEDL # 10)

ASA Certified Courses CONVERSION  can be found at https://albertasoccer.com/referee/courses/  . Those courses are available through your Refcentre account under the ‘Registration’ menu (E2E Ref Centre )

– ASA REFEREE COURSES  *Refresher*

This course is required for all referees that have been involved in the indoor program previously and completed an ASA Indoor Conversion Course in a prior season.

All REFRESHER webinar courses will be hosted online by Alberta Soccer. This will be for all formats – boarded, boardless and Futsal. There will be no in person offerings. Registration is done via your RefCentre Account under the Registration tab. You can click the link here: (E2E Ref Centre )

 

EMSA Mini Referees courses

The Alberta Soccer Association (ASA) does not offer indoor courses for ASA Mini Referees. EMSA has offered courses to ASA Mini Referees in the past. Unfortunately, ASA has made a decision that for the 2021-2021 Indoor Season Mini Referees cannot officiate. Therefore, EMSA cannot offer any indoor courses for ASA Mini Referees this season.

 

EMSA AR (Assistant Referees) courses

EMSA ARs are not able to be involved in the indoor program.
